These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Limena mobile app, website, and related services (together, the “Service”). By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
“Limena”, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to the operator of the Service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with the Service and is part of these Terms.
Eligibility and access
You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum age required to use the Service where you live, whichever is higher. If you are using Limena on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms for that organisation.
You are responsible for providing accurate information, keeping your device secure, and using the Service only in a way that complies with applicable law and these Terms. Access is personal to you; do not use another person’s device identifier, account, or purchase entitlement to obtain access to paid features.
Using Limena
Limena provides language-learning tools, including guided learning content, practice activities, language feedback, and, where available, AI-powered voice or text conversations. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your own lawful, non-commercial learning use, subject to these Terms and the applicable app-store terms.
You may not, and may not help another person to:
- copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, or sublicense any part of the Service or its content except where law permits;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code or models from the Service, except where law prohibits that restriction;
- interfere with the Service, bypass usage limits or access controls, use automated means to scrape or overload it, or attempt unauthorised access;
- use the Service to create, upload, or share unlawful, infringing, abusive, sexually exploitative, discriminatory, or harmful material; or
- use Limena to obtain emergency, medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice.
You retain any rights you have in the content you submit to Limena. You grant us the limited rights necessary to host, process, transmit, and display that content solely to operate and improve the Service, provide the feature you ask for, and protect the Service.
AI-powered features
Some Limena features use artificial intelligence to generate conversation, translations, explanations, transcription, scoring, or feedback. AI output can be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate for a particular context. Use it as a language-learning aid, not as a statement of fact, professional advice, or a guarantee of social or cultural correctness.
You are responsible for what you say, type, or upload. Do not submit confidential, sensitive, or personal information that you do not have permission to share. You should independently verify important information before relying on it.
Learning outcomes: Limena does not guarantee fluency, a CEFR level, a test score, employment outcome, or any other particular result. Progress varies with your starting point, practice, exposure, and many factors outside the Service.
Free service, Premium, and payments
Free service
Limena may offer an ad-supported free version with limited features, regional settings, or usage. The features available in the free version can change as the Service evolves.
Premium
Limena Premium unlocks additional features. At the effective date of these Terms, the app presents Premium at $49.99 per month or $499.99 per year, with a 7-day free trial where offered. Actual price, tax, currency, trial availability, and features are shown to you before you purchase and may vary by storefront or region. The information shown in the applicable app store at checkout controls if it differs from this page.
When you begin a paid subscription, your Apple App Store or Google Play account (as applicable) will charge your chosen payment method. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period, or as otherwise stated by the applicable storefront. You can manage or cancel a subscription through your device’s app-store subscription settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Except where required by law or stated by the applicable storefront, payments are non-refundable. If you believe you were charged in error, contact the applicable storefront first and email support@limena.app with the details.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Limena available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Features, content, languages, or usage limits may be changed, suspended, or discontinued. We may perform maintenance or restrict access when reasonably necessary for security, safety, legal compliance, or service operation.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated Terms will be posted here with a new effective date. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice where required. Continuing to use the Service after the updated Terms take effect means you accept them.
Intellectual property
Limena, its logo, the Service, and its original content, design, software, and materials are owned by Limena or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you ownership of any Limena intellectual property.
If you send feedback, ideas, or suggestions, you allow us to use them without restriction or compensation, provided that we have no obligation to use them.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, created risk or legal exposure for Limena or others, or interfered with the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including intellectual-property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute provisions—will survive.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and availability. We do not warrant that the Service will meet your requirements, be accurate, secure, uninterrupted, or free of harmful components.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Limena and its suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or opportunities, arising from or related to the Service. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid Limena for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD $100. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Governing law and consumer rights
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Limena is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. If you are a consumer, mandatory laws and rights of your country of residence may apply and are not excluded by these Terms.
